Designing for connection: Rethinking public spaces
What makes a place a place where we feel at ease and a sense of belonging?
This is what we’ve been exploring at FLUX this summer: together with Mars and the University of Manchester, we’ve been holding focus group discussions with you to find out how you experience FLUX and what role places like ours play in fostering encounters, community and a sense of belonging.
Prof. Pamela Qualter from the University of Manchester will bring the findings back to FLUX for our panel discussion and present what we have learnt from these conversations.
Afterwards, we’ll discuss what this means in concrete terms for the design of public spaces. Joining us will be Morag Myerscough, the artist and designer behind FLUX. Together with Pamela Qualter and Anne Vela-Wagner from Mars, she will discuss how design can help people feel welcome and that they belong in a place.
The discussion will be moderated by author and journalist Daniel Haas. Afterwards, there will be time for questions, discussion and drinks.
The event will be held in English.
