The Abduction from the Seraglio by W.A. Mozart
A warm welcome to “Opera in Pocket Format” at FLUX!
As part of the “Music on Wheels” series, grand opera is brought to life in a compact and accessible form. A string quartet and an accordion take on the orchestral parts, whilst five vocal soloists perform the key arias and ensemble scenes on stage. Music director Johannes Erkes, acting as moderator, guides the audience through the plot, characters and musical highlights in a lively and accessible manner suitable for both opera newcomers and opera lovers alike.
Mozart’s “The Abduction from the Seraglio” tells a story of love, freedom and reconciliation, combining musical virtuosity with humour and emotional depth.
Since 2007, the production has been staged in numerous performances both at home and abroad and can now be experienced at FLUX.
